Crackling sound on Samsung DLP -- HLR5067W

I've had my my HLR5067W Samsung 50" DLP for over 2 months with no problems but now I'm noticing something weird. Sometimes when I'm watching TV and the commerical changes from one commerical to another I hear a crackling sound. It's kind of staticky, poppy, crackly sound that lasts for about a second and then disappears. The sound is coming out of the TVs own speakers. It's really weird. It never happens when I switch channels orwhen I switch inputs. Just from one commerical to another while on the same channel but it doesn't happen all of the time, maybe 25% of the time at most. Anyone else experience this or know what might be causing it? It's a not a huge deal but it is kind of annoying.

Thanks,

The Dan

If you are driving the TV with a STB, it may be switching between 720p and 480i between the main program and some commercials. This could be causing your TV to reset to the new input resolution and could cause the problem that you are describing. There are a number of ways to avoid the problem ... if this is what is happening.

I had (have ) the same problem with my new Sony SXRD set. The day after getting the set I called Cox cable to upgrade to a HD receiver; a few days after installing the new HD receiver the set began to pop in one speaker than the other, some times pinponging back and forth. This would happen during a show, not switching channels.

I thought it was the new HD box and swapped it out, but a few days later the same thing happened. My new set had a discoloration problems that a tech could not eliminate so the set was swapped out with a new one and I'm getting the same audio popping but not as servere and it seems much more intermittent than the first set. I tried new cables and that didn't help either.

By the way, it does not effect the picture in any way.
What you guys described is pretty much what I'm experiencing. To my recollecion it only happens on the HD channels so that switch from 720 to 480 during commercials seems to make sense. Nothing worth worrying about I guess. Thanks for the replies.
