Creating Toshiba RD-XS32 Menus

322 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JK27
Hello been coming to this forum for awhile now and I thought I would post a few things about the Toshiba RD-XS32. Yes this wonderful unit comes with menus but dare I say they get boring real fast. For new ones to spice things up yes you can take snapshots of your fav show as stated in the manual and this works very well. Say your creating a Stargate DVD just capture the starting title screen and there you go a nice new menu for all your Statgate DVDs located on the next page of your stock Toshiba RD-XS32 menus.

Now for new ones I create them all in Photoshop or just grap some TV show wallpaper from google then save them all to a RW CD or DVD. I then run them out of my Momitsu DVD's svid cable to my Toshiba RD-XS32 and hit record on my Toshiba RD-XS32 while I am in Jpeg mode on my Momitsu DVD. I take about a few seconds of each pix before I hit next and when I have been thru them all I hit stop on the Toshiba RD-XS32. Now just go to this new recording and highlight it and hit the Quickmenu button. Then goto save images and scroll thru the recorded saved images for each pix you recorded and there you go. When you create you next DVD you have a whole bunch of home made menus to choose from.

Sorry for the image darkness but I have a Projector and my theater has to be dark
but I hope you get the idea and this sparks a few in you.

Oh interesting, does this mean I can find a black screen, record it, and end up with black backgrounded DVDs? The built in DVD schemes are hokey.

Heck, for _some_ DVDs I could imagine just wanting a text list so I can fit more on the first screen.
