I can't post a link to this - but check the soundblaster.com site
I use my laptop extensively as a media hub attached to my home theater system - music videos and the like. I get a horrible ground loop problem - would the fiber connection solve this?
Additionally, if I'm using a Panny 72 as a source right now - is this actually an improvement over that?
*Supports Sony/Philips Digital Interface (SPDIF) format of up to 24-bit/96 kHz quality at selectable sampling rate of 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz
??? Is that saying a digital output of 24 bit/96 khz DVD-A stereo tracks?
I'm not up on what the current crop of components are capable of.
