I'm remodeling and building out a multi-use media room. I thought I settled on purchasing a single 15" HSU VTF3-MK5 sub, and potentially adding another later, if needed, to even out the room.

Then I got to thinking about the adjacent space under the stairs and the adjacent closet, as well as the built-in bench I was going to build at the front.

I could use some guidance as to if any of the following could be a better solution that would take up less room space.
1) DIY sub, built to take the place of part of the storage bench (it would look like part of the bench, but be a custom sub... I not referring to putting a sub inside of the bench, but building it as part of the bench.
2) Infinite baffle of some form with the closet on the SW side of the room or beneath the stairs (NW side)?
3) same as #2 , but some variation using a pre-built sub...

My layout is shown below, and I'd love to hear any creative ideas. Thanks!

@AveryN I am in the same boat, I prematurely built my large entertainment center with spaces for the dual subs only to read a few months later about how bad they rattle everything because they were not built into the entertainment center itself. So If I had done the latter, I could have made the bottom cut outs out of dual 3/4 mdf and ensured that nothing moved, ever :)

So I suggest you build dual subs in the front L and R ends of that seating bench. There was a good forum thread here showing how one member did it, but I cannot find it. Basically take this picture but use the bench sides, back, bottom and top for the enclosure. You can port out the side or back or front if you want to make it ported?
