I am closing on a new house in ten days. I have purchased all of my audio / video equipment. The house is prewired for multi zone audio, so I purchased the Crestron Adagio and five APAD controllers.

The Adagio will only be used to control the audio in the house at this time - not the video.

I have purchased the Ceni-doc for Ipod control, a Sony CD changer, and the Adagio comes with the dual AM/FM tuner. I also would like my Sony ES receiver that is powering the theater room to feed audio to the Adagio so when I have something playing in the theater room I can hear it on the speakers in the bar/game room area.

My question is does this type of setup require any programming, or is it truly just utilizing out of the box functionality? I need to know if a certified Crestron installer is required, or if I can hire an independent installer to do all my work (installing the projector, screen, mount televisions, install speakers, connect receivers, etc).

I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

you should get yourself an installer. The system setup is not that complicated but you will need some programming done for you to optimize the system.

You will need a Crestron Programmer (Dealer or CAIP). You installer will not have access to the required software in order to install and program your system.
