An easy way to check what is compatible and not is to try and use a CP2E in SIMPL Windows and try and drag and drop Prodigy Devices on it.. If it doesn't stick.. it wont work

I wish they would though.. .they are so much cheaper than regular dimmers and switches

How near of a future? I'm close to getting a Prodigy system and just use that stand alone for lighting/HVAC..

Don't want to do it if I can just wait and get some cheaper dimmers for my 2 series..

Thought I saw something about this in Crestron's e-mailer's a while ago, went to check and it looks like I did (dunno if this helps you at all):

Crestron is pleased to announce significant new advances in the Prodigy® line of simple and affordable home automation solutions.

New Prodigy dimmers, switches and PTX3 handheld touchpanel employ the latest in Crestron 2-way RF wireless technology, delivering cost-effective, attractive upgrades that will help you sign your next Prodigy deal in record time.

A new PMC2+ package includes the Prodigy PMC2 control system and a PTX3 wireless handheld touchpanel with a color touchscreen and the power to transmit commands right through walls. The P-DIMEX dimmer and P-SWEX switch have a high quality finish and feature single rocker button control, integrated nightlights and support for custom lighting scenes. Both are available in white, black and almond and easily replace existing light switches. The P-LDIMEX lamp dimmer and P-LSWEX lamp switch integrate free-standing floor and table lamps into the control system to deliver complete lighting control with plug-in simplicity.

Unlike single-room, line-of-sight remotes, the PTX3 is perfect for roaming and whole-house control. Browse iPods and play back songs from any room in the house, or check to see what lights are on and shut selected ones off - right from the touchscreen. Within fifty feet of a new dimmer, switch or P-EXPEX plug-in wireless extender you can use the PTX3 to communicate with the PMC2+ Prodigy Controller, and reliably monitor and control devices and systems anywhere in the house. Additional features of the PTX3 include easy-to-use, backlit pushbuttons, a sleek gloss finish and slim, lightweight design.

According to Vincent Bruno, Crestron Director of Marketing, "Prodigy now delivers the fastest, most reliable wireless network available today, with no need to break into walls and pull cable. This cost-effective product line enables virtually all homeowners to enjoy the benefits of robust and scalable whole-house automation."

The PMC2+ control system includes the new PTX3 handheld touchpanel, replacing the original PMC2 package. Ask your local sales rep about upgrading PLX2 handheld remotes to the new PTX3 today.
