This is larger based off renethx's recommendations thread.

I plan on using it mostly for online video, hulu, netflix, etc. divx files and then in the short future adding a tuner card to record OTA HD. No blu-ray since I have a nice blu-ray player already.

Ordering

ZOTAC GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi GF9300-D-E

Pentium Dual-Core E5200

SilverStone NT07-775

WD SATA 160GB

Samsung SH-S203N 20x DVD±RW DL SATA Drive

Apex MI-008

Already have 2GB of DDR2 667 memory for it laying around. I'm sure not ideal but would give it a shot before ordering memory.

If it matter it will be going into a Pioneer 1018 receiver for audio/video. Insignia 36" LCD and Mitsubishi HC1500 projector.

Good choices, but I hear the Zotac may have issues with USB devices waking the board up from standby. This may only apply to their ITX-sized board; not sure...read some Newegg reviews. I helped a friend build a PC based on the Asus version of the 9300 and he has been happy with it.

Also, I think DDR2-667 is just fine. Memory speed is a little more important with an IGP like the 9300, but I think you'll be fine. The CPU isn't going to suffer as a 1333FSB is basically saturated by DDR2-667.

Last of the parts come in today, can't wait.

Right now I'm leaning towards WinXP and using Media Portal and Hulu Desktop.

What are peoples recomendations on a remote? Should I just get the usual MCE remote I keep seeing mentioned. Is 1 MCE remote the same as another? I have a Harmony 657 and would great if I could get most functionality to work with the Harmony.

I see something like this looks nice with the mouse controls also built in.

i would definately get a bigger hard drive 160gb is not going to be sufficient for recording...500 to 1tb at least

subtract out the OS and program and you have about enough storage for 15 hr long hd shows, not counting your live recording buffer...

get teh most bang for your buck or add if you aren't storing any media definitely get at least 500 gb for tv, you can always add a second 1.5tb hdd if you plan to store any media...

Should have updated that post. When I was purchasing everything I got a deal on a 500g drive. So it's got a 500g drive and I also have a 1.5t NAS drive.

Any comments on the remote questions?
