I'm a San Diego Time Warner cable customer and I've been using the Scientific Atlanta 3100HD STB with my Pioneer 620HD for a while now. The problem is that 16:9 images have always been cropped on the right side only. 3:4 pictures are displayed and centered correctly, but when the picture is wide, there is a perpetual 2-3" black bar running down the right side of the screen.

I thought that a TV adjustment was needed, but a Pio service tech came over and hooked up an OTA HD receiver to the same component input and the 16:9 image filled the screen.

A Time Warner tech looked at the problem, and swapped out the box to no avail. He said it was beyond his expertise.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for any advice!
