Crossover setting on Marantz DV-12S1

Hi Guys!

I have Marantz DV-12S1 dvd video/audio player that I want to use for dvd-audio via multichannel analog outs. I was wondering if anybody knows what the crossover is set at when speakers are configured as "small". Its THX Ultra certified so I am assuming the crossover would be set at 80Hz. I sent an enquiry to Marantz CS & got an odd answer. Their reply says that if "large" is selected the crossover is 70Hz & for "small" its 100Hz. What I am puzzled about is that usually when "large" is selected the crossover should be bypassed, not enabled at lower cutoff frequency. Appreciate any help.
