Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is in the correct section and if not please move it to the right location, thanks.
I'm having a slight problem with a standard CRT TV (flat screen) which is supposed to do 480p through component (thought about connecting PS2 to PC LCD but that looks awful) but I've tried my PS2 (using 480p compatible games) with component cables but when I change to the "progressive" option the whole screen shows in black and white and lines coming up and down (which is normal when the TV doesn't support the said resolution).
I have tried this with Tekken 5 and Gran Turismo 4, both games look excellent with component though since colors and such don't look all blown up and look very crisp, clean and colors look realistic (GT4 seems to have a little less jaggies as if it was already running on progressive mode).
Everything from the manual which I still have and the box itself say the TV does 480p through component but nothing, I can't make it work.
Any solution? would this be a marketing lie to sell the TV? the picture for a non-HDTV is outstanding, and haven't had any other problems with the TV at all.
