Greetings, I ask this question because it seems that DVI has won the war over digital video connection standards but silly me, I bought a closeout RCA MiniDV camcorder with a Firewire jack from a QVC outlet store. I would like to preserve the potential picture quality of the camcorder by using the Fire-wire jack for playback.

I've seen both jacks on the high end Hitachi rear projection sets but I'm afraid of convergence issues because I live about 100 feet from a high speed electric commuter rail line (Patco) and low speed diesel engine rail line. I'm convinced that I'll be perpetually re-converging any CRT rear projection set due to the vibrations caused by the trains.

You comments on either topic are welcome.

Cheers
