Hi,

I just got a Radeon 9200se card. I am trying to connect it to my DVI on my CS-1.

When it is connected, I have several problems.

1) I cannot access other inputs (does not pass the signal on my component inputs) until I disconnect the DVI and hard boot the machine.

2) I do not get a signal from my computer on the DVI input even though I am using 640x480 signal.

I just want to connect my computer (DVI) to my CS-1. The RGB passthough is being used by DTC-100.

Thanks

After many hours of research here is what I found.

I WILL NEVER BE AN EARLY ADOPTER AGAIN.

Okay,

It appears that most video cards when using DVI communicates with the monitor requesting an EDID information. If the monitor does not respond, or send back incorrect information, the card's DVI ouput is turned off.

Here is the million dollor question, does the CS-1 or CS-2, send out EDID information to emulate a monitor. If not we are in a world of trouble.

Most devices, not just video cads, now are using EDID to know if your display unit supports higher resolutions. If no EDID, or incorrect EDID information is sent, it may or may not allow a DVI output.

I am trying to find a video card or application that will tell the video card driver to just send the signal and ignore the EDID information.

I have been looking at PowerStrip but I do not know if it allows this. Note that while powerstrip allows you to create Monitor profiles, the video card drivers do not use those, they instead appear to communicate directly with the monitor or CS-1 for the EDID information.

Anyway, I am calling FE on Tue, since they do not answer emails.

Thanks,

clopez

have you tried this (found here )

-Win2k/XP Systems-

The problem could be with the DDC controls. If so, with the ATI Control Panel installed, go to:

Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Displays.

Click Monitor. Under Attributes tab, uncheck Use DDC information and select your monitors max settings.

I think that's the standard method to disable DDC in windows.

Your experience with FE not answering emails is the same as mine.

Okay,

Because my CS-1 was one of the first. It has to go in for some surgery to add the EDID prom and few things.

It should come back faster,better... oh wait thats the Six Million Dollar Man

Made some contact with CS-1 and they made me have faith in the company again.

Focus Enhancements have made me a happy and loyal customer.

They graciously expedited my upgrade and shipping.

This afternoon, after preparing my wife that I may be gone all night working on my DVI, I ended setting up the unit and had my computer DVI working in less than 3 minutes. No kidding.

I want to thank the folks at Focus Inc for treating me like their number one customer.

Thanks,

clopez
