I just bought theater chairs from a store in town (Bel Furniture) and the seats arrived yesterday. 2 seats had a cracked cupholders and 3 seats had loose cupholders. Only 1 chair had a cupholder that was not damaged and did not move.

I have a feeling they are going to give me a hard time and want to repair these. I'm assuming these are just glued to the leather. I would like a total replacement but i'm thinking since its just the cupholders, they may not be willing to order total seat replacements.

So my question is, to anyone who may know, are these just glued to the leather and would it be an easy and lasting fix if they reglued them? I'm very hesitant about getting seats I havent even sat in yet repaired, but i'm hoping this is very minor and wont be a big deal.

Just wanted some opinions.

The cup holders usually either:

a.) just pull right out. Just try to lift it up and see what happens.

b.) if there is a rubber pad on the bottom, peel that off to see if there is a screw that holds the cup holder to the arm. If so, just remove this screw and pull the cup holder out.

Good luck.

One that is cracked pulls right out. Nothing on the holder to show its attached to anything but the fabric (under the rim lid). The other chairs, with the exception of 1 will move left and right to an extent but feel like they are attached to the fabric. You cant pull it out without force.

The one good chair has a cupholder that wont move at all.
