Can some one name some of the AVR's that are out right now that can output 11 speaker channels, with or without add on amps.


Or if there are some coming out within the next 6 months as well.

In the D&M camp there are the Denon AVR-4311CI and 4520CI and Marantz 8801.

Onkyo's TX-NR3010 and TX-NR5010 both have 9 powered speaker outputs and 11.4 analog pre-outs.

So it seems as I had expected. I haven't perused the AVR section here at AVS in awhile, so just trying to get back up to date.


My last AVR I bought was the excellent Onkyo TX-NR818 back about a year ago.


Tempted to make the move to an 11 channel setup but it seems as though there's nothing new that's come out lately other than those models you guys listed.


I guess the new lineups will be forthcoming here soon. Within the next few months or so. Maybe I'll see what those have to offer.

Obviously the one thing to add as that there are no 11.x channel sources available for home use. So the 11.4 gets synthesized from, at best, 7.1 channel sources.


While that is probably obvious to most AVSForum folks, there may be someone browsing who doesn't realize that there is no source material or inputs on the AVRs for discrete 11.x yet.

There's no source material for 9.x either, you have to use DSP to achieve anything above 7.1.

^ that's ok, DSX and Neo both do a great job with 5 and 7 channel material. 11 discreet channels? No. But definitely an improvement with movies, AFAIC.


Pretty sure all the current and past 11 channel models have been listed. The 2013 Denons have been introduced and they're all 7/9. Looks like the 4520 will be the flagship for at least another year.
