Hi

Just a general question about hacking a db25 cable: I've got the pinouts for the devices I'm going to be hooking up to (half) a db25 cable, but it is obvious which wires go with which pins? (Are they color-coded or otherwise distinguishable from each other?) Is there a particular brand whose wires inside are known to be color-coded?

Or should I plan on testing each pin & wire to find which goes with which? Or is it better/easier/cheaper to start with a db25 connector that I solder onto the wires myself?

Thanks in advance,

Jason

There is no standard for the DB-25 color coding or pin-outs. Your best bet is to verify the wiring with a ohmmeter and then build your own cable.
