Depends on your projector. My Mits HC3, HD1000, and Epson 400 all support user startup screens. Generally, you capture the user startup image from the current input.

how..????????????????????????
The procedure is detailed in the user manual. Generally though, as jrwhite said, the projector is displaying the image you want and you go into the menu to tell it to capture that image and store it.

You didn't say what projector you have, so we can't be more specific. But that capability HAS to built into the projector.

hc1500

i did not see anything like that in manual, but thanks.

just think it would be really nice to have a def tech or dts or thx image rather than the mits image.
I re-checked my HD1000, and it doesn't have a user splash screen option ( the Mits HC3 does ), so I don't think the HC1500 would have it either as it's almost identical to the HD1000.

Has anyone done this with an Epson 1080? I'll have to check my menu to night to see if its possible...

Checked the Epson 1080 Manual and no mention of it like the Epson 400 menu, wonder why they took that option out.....
