Anyone know of a program that will automatically download TV programming listings in a basic text-file type form so that custom apps could easily access and display the listings in any way, shape, or form??? My goal is to display button icons of my favorite 15 DIRECTV channels on a P510, with the name of the current TV program embedded on each button icon in small text. Then I will use my DIRECTV serial control utility http://www.pcmx.net/dtvcon/ linked to each button to change channels.

There used to be several pay services that had this.

All were getting their info under contract from Gemstar/TV Guide.

All of them could not renew their contracts this year, so they are all gone.

Halljb, The concept from that site is what I need, but it looks more complicated than I want. It needs assorted Perl stuff(I know nothing about Perl), and a Replaytv account.

You don't need a replaytv account. The xmltv stuff by itself is what you are looking for. The other things mentioned in that thread were for conflict checking on a replaytv. XMLTV uses some other source for the info (like titantv).

Also, xmltv includes windows executables, so you don't need perl. It's exactly what you are looking for...take another look at it.
