I have a question about a particular setup and what receiver would be good.

I have a small squarish room, and I want my receiver to do two things:

1. Play 5.1 surround sound

2. Play dual stereo ceiling speakers in all four corners of the room

I am considering the following setup (7.1 receiver):

passive soundbar for right, center and left

four in ceiling speakers for center and rear right and left

My question is, would it be possible to only play music through the center and rear surrounds, and turn off the soundbar when playing music?

Thanks

Corner speaker placement would not make for ideal "center" speakers, rather you would likely use them as "Front Height" speakers using DD PLIIz and the rear corner speakers would be "Side Surround" speakers. You could then use the "Multi CH Stereo" mode to play stereo to both sets of ceiling speakers as well as the sound bar, so if you don't want audio going to the sound bar, you would have to disconnect it from the AVR.

Ok, well is there a receiver that could do what I want without having to disconnect the soundbar? I dont actually want to ever use it for actual 7.1 surround as my room isnt big enough to justify it
