anyone know how much better the scaling will be in the

z10000 with there CV-IC2 image processor, comapred to

the cvic1 in the z9000, trying to weigh the pros and cons

of both units with this attribute and contrast and hd2 chip

technology, to see if it is worth the extra 3-4K or just stay

with HD1 technology until 1080 resolution becomes obtainable to the consumer

The CIVIC 1 was actually a good scaler. The De-interlacing was terrible.

Use a good progressiv dvd-player (Pana RP-82 and others) and you should be fine.

If the Sharp 10000 has finally no overscan on input 1+2, more contrast, better black-level it might already be worth the upgrade for a few. Add the DVI (HDCP) input, maybe slightly lower fan noise and the higher lumen output.

Some people see a big differences HD1 vs. HD2 others not.

Maybe you should try and check the thread with the CC30R filter settings.

Could give you another boost for a few months.

As many forum members have stated in the past:

Do a side by side comparison!! Only then will you really see the differences and be able to make a decision based on your personal taste and viewing experience.

Cheers
