I don't have a DVHS deck, but I was curious... how does Fast forward and rewind work on a the JVC 40K (30K)? Does it show a picture or is it a black screen while it skips ahead 10 sec? Do D-Theater tapes act any differently?

PS the more techincal version of my question is: does the JVC support mpeg trick modes and/or does it take advantage of random_access flags in the PES header and/or in the transport stream adaption field?

It will show skipped frames. Much different than traditional VHS. Kind of like high speed dvd FF or RW.
