Has anyone noticed any degradation with HD signals through the component switching?


How about using S-video switching?


I'm trying to decide whether or not to use the receiver for switching, and right now I don't have enough cables to do a comparison (hence if I do decide to switch...another purchase).

That makes two of us, actually S-video looks even better going thru the receiver.

I didnt notice any better or any worse shooting it through the video on receiver. I havent fully tested it, but so far, so good.

Component Video switching is spec'ed at 50MHz, so you should not see any degradation in video quality through the 4ES. Mine certainly looks great when switching DVDs, etc, to my Sony KV-40XBR800 TV.

Yep, it works fine. I suppose I could run my component cables directly from the DVD to the TV and bypass the receiver, but I have the inputs on the 4ES so I used it.
