I know the Saturn 5 rocket dB level upon take off is ~180dB.

Would it be possible (in theory) to setup a speaker system to output the same dB & low frequency as a Saturn 5? If so how? What equipment would be needed?

Should I sit 20 feet away from the speakers?

You should sit in a concrete bunker in the next county.

I'm sure it would be possible. Practical? No.

My setup will reach well over 120db with no distortion, but I have to make the measurements from the next room with the doors closed. And stuff rattling off the walls.

Err... If you're in the next room how do you know there's no distortion? (Sorry... Couldn't help myself.)

To hit 180dB it's a simple matter of getting enough air moving. The saturn probably hits frequencies well below 5 Hz. though, which would make it quite an engineering feat!

Alternatively, I suggest you insert a Q-tip in your ear and bash it in with a copy of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". That's a much cheaper way to rupture you eardrum's and incur permanent hearing loss.

It sounds pretty clear through the wall!

Sometimes I'll poke my head in for a minute. I can't stand it for long though.
