Does this protection scheme limit the D'ahlia or other sets, or does it ensure that IF this awful scheme takes hold, that the set can be used more? What are the drawbacks to it? DIVX players simply had another "feature" that could be ignored when divx died.
The AV61S901 -- the original D'Ahlia -- didn't have DVI or HDCP. The AV61S902 -- the one actually being shipped in the US -- has DVI/HDCP. It looks like the original article just didn't mention it, or used the old spec sheet.
I hope that the DVI/HDCP interface will just mean -- like RF1031 said -- that the set will have a better chance of being compatible if the forces of evil win out.
