I'm going to get an HP for my new Sharp12000mkII. I'm definitely going with a fixed frame, but the price for a model B makes way more sense. I would just cut it off the model B roller, staple it to the wall and then build a nice frame using door casing painted matt black. Is there any reason that I shouldn't do it like that? Or does anyone have a better suggestion that won't cost more than 250-300 bucks?

Will stapling it to the wall work with this material, or should it be stretched much tighter over a wood or metal frame?

Many do this, but I would caution you on one thing. I would NOT staple it to the wall. Knowing contractors...your wall is probably not perfectly straight. This could cause some issues with reflections. Rather, build the frame, staple it to that, and hang that onto the wall.

That will work excellent and guarantee the fabric is flat.
