Hi everyone

 

I have recently purchased a Philips Stereo Media Centre (901) from my local charity shop. It seems to work fine when playing through my headphones but the speaker outputs are like nothing I have seen before.

 

I think it's a specific plug/connector I need but I'm not sure.

 

Please see attached some pictures and please, any help is would be appreciated.

All I can find is a couple units on eBay, which seem to sell with its own speakers. I assume its a proprietary plug format. It would probably be easiest/cheapest to use a self-amplified headphone jack speaker than to track down replacements.

Open up the unit and see if you can just disconnect that back plate and make a more DIY kind of connection.

I think that what you need is a: '2pin DIN speaker plug'

They were required at one time in Europe so you do not confuse electrical plug and any other audio plug.

There are some on eBay.
