Hi --

I received a Scientific Atlanta Explorer-8300HD DVR from TWC in December. After about two weeks it began to display a dark gray overlay over most of the screen, in the shape of a reversed fat "L". You can see the picture underneath the gray area. The "L" goes away as soon as you switch channels. The replacement SA-8300HD began to do the exact same thing after about four days. TWC has no idea what causes it. Some tech support guy thinks it's the TV, but the installer says the same thing is happening with his cousin's TV. I use the DVI output to the TV, with a DVI-HDMI conversion plug to the HDMI-HDMI cable. The DVD input (component) does not have the problem. Anybody smarter than TWC out there?
