Hi Everyone. First Post Here.

Here is my situation:

1. I want to buy a projector that has good native resolution for both Computer programming work and also for home theater/ HDTV.

2. The room will be W = 11', L = 22', H = 8' in my basement.

3. The room can be dark all day. But it would be nice to have some ambient light to see a keyborad and mouse.

4. I do not want to spend more than $8,000 USD on the projector.

Here are my priorities - I think (feel free to tell me that they are mixed up):

1. Want native resolution of 1366x768 at least.

2. Would like to be able to do 1280x1024 NATIVE for computer programming and 3D modelling.

3. Great video for widescreen home theater.

4. Good connections.

5. No major quirks.

6. Semi Portable - take it with me occasionally.

7. Works like a strong horse! No lemons.

I would like your recommendations for a PJ that is on the market now. If you know, please make a recommendation for under $4,000 USD and a recommendation for over $4,000.

Thanks,

John

Nothings perfect under $4000, used JVC G10, G11, or G1000, not very portable but good resolution or used Hitachi 5500/5600, some problems with DVI and possibility of purple blacks.

Over $4000, JVC SX21

There aren't many native panels that will do 1024 vertically. HD1/HD2 DLP machines won't do native 1280x1024.
