its seems some CGI blood has been added to hide nudity in the american Region 1 of this DVD, even if its Unrated ?!?!!?

I watched the unrated R1 version last night. I saw the scene with the girl by the bus minus the blood splash. It caught my eye and I don't think it would have if there was blood. I can double check. Also what about

I know that there's a FF (Family Friendly) release of the Unrated version, maybe this is part of that?

Who is putting out this "family friendly" version? Why would they start with the Unrated version? In fact, why bother at all? Makes no sense to me.

I rented DotD from Blockbuster and it DID have the "let's-hide-the-boobies" digital blood. So, if I buy this from a store, it won't have this? Not that it makes ALL that big a difference, but seems odd considering it's supposed to be unrated.

Blockbuster only carries R or "less" DVDs from what people say. I guess it's the R rated version of the "director's cut" which, as he says in the "intro", was stuff that they didn't think the MPAA would like. And some minor character development.

I watched this last night, and the blood did catch my eye on the window (only because I was thinking a boobie was coming up ). I didn't think twice about it until I saw this thread. I bought the "Unrated" version from Best Buy. It said it all over the case. I Guess it's not "Unrated"!?! Interesting.

well, unrated doesn't mean not censored, it just means it's not rated!

Why would one be omitted and not the other. What's the timestamp of the first one, anybody know? And, cybersoga is pointing out the obvious for us. MPAA has not see the movie with the additional footage (I guess).

Well, I just popped in the DVD. In the first scene in question, my recollection from last night was both right and wrong:

Trend like this has to stop. We need to raise hell about this. If I buy unrated version I want to see all the violence and boobs.


Otherwise do not release unrated vesion as it is pointless.

If the filmmaker said that, then it is a stupid excuse. Unrated means unrated and FCC does not regulate cable or DVD releases.

If you are a purist, yes. Actually, R3. R2 tends to be "censored" too from what I've read concerning the the two regions. But I'd put the extra $$$ towards a porno and see alot more nudity. But one could argue that the extra blood adds to the gore.... We're talking one or two seconds of movie.
