Priced reasonably, well built, good design, great specs, oh and... it supposedly sounds amazing.

94-95 dB 1W/1M
It's 8 ohm so in theory you could use 2 in parallel
Goes up near 2k without worry, breakups aren't too crazy with a proper crossover
Used in this speaker:

It got a pretty good review, as a $10,000 pair of speakers:

Bridges the gap between high fidelity and high output.

When I zoom into the photo the dust cap looks acoustically transparent with something behind it, like a phase plug or pole venting or something.

Something I don't like is the size of the frame. It's about 1/2 to 3/4" larger than most 8" woofers with a hair less Sd. That's bad use of baffle realestate is you ask me. Costs a lot too. I suppose it's got a nice combination of effeciency and bass...

It looks like you are going to have to tame that hump if you plan to cross around 8khz. But this could be an interesting pair up with the "ribbon" tweeter than AE is offering.

And baffle real estate be damned!

Copper sleeve. ;)

Between that and the neo motor, the price makes a little more sense.

Why would you cross around 8k? The only possible way you should be transitioning that high is from a 2" dome mid to a 3/4" or less tweeter.
Anything higher than 2k and the polar response starts to suffer.

I think Vapor crossed as high as 2.3k, but it was probably 4th order and may have had a notch filter as well.
But with a 4th order at 2k, I'm guessing the irregularities above would be pretty well suppressed.
