db-500s with the BKA1000-4A?

I'm planning on buying two 12" db-500 subwoofers from tcsounds and Iwas wondering about which amp I should purchase. The Buttkicker BKA1000-4A caught my eye because I can get it for $260, and for two subs at 2 ohms, it can put out a thousand watts to each one. However, I was wondering if this was a good choice or not, since it has been mentioned to me that this was built specifically for Buttkicker products.

I've heard people say that they run their subs off of it, and it sounds wonderful, but I was hoping to get a little more input from people here on whether or not it would be a wise purchase.

i would go with nothing less, i just got mine and it rocks my rlp15. I would not pay 260 though, i got mine new off ebay for 220 shipped.
Excellent amp for subs. You can always add a couple of db drivers down the road with power to spare.

I'll keep a look out on ebay for them, but after a quick check justnow, the cheapest I can buy one is for $255...and for that price, I'd just rather pay the extra five bucks and buy it from a place with the longer warranty.
watch for one that has a best offer option, i offered them 190 with 30 shipping and they accepted and relisted another
I bought mine from musiciansfriend for $230
Using mine with a TC Sounds TC12 OEM. Sounds incredible. I think you will be very happy with it.

What alignment are you using?

I also have the TC12 and am working on a 3 ft^3 ported box tuned to 18-20hz. I also purchased the Bash 500w amp but I'm not sure if it will be enough juice for this driver. $230 shipped seems like a steal for the Buttkicker.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with Musician's Friend on this one, although when I checked they were $250...but that still is the cheapest I've seen. I changed up my sub choice though, and I decided to go with one 15" TC-1000. Hopefully the beast will completely manhandle my HT.
You know i may have paid $250 at musiciansfriend. Can't remember. Regardless the free shipping settled it since amps aren't cheap to ship.

Whether or not it will manhandle your HT is dependent on several things.

1. Your current HT setup and listening experiences

2. The alignment you choose for the driver

3. The placement you choose for the driver

4. The size of your HT

5. Your expectations for the driver

I have seen a guy that was unsatisfied with 4 RL-p15's, just because he was expecting LUDICROUSLY INSANE levels of bass and just would up with INSANE.

Right now, I have Klipsch RF-35 mains, RS-7 surrounds, and an RC-7 center...all going along with some hundred watt Philips 6" powered sub that came with a 5.1 surround sound package (all the speakers and the receiver were $200). Also, keep in mind that I have this in an 11'x13' bedroom, which even the sub I have no has the capability to fill...so I think my expectations for the 15" are completely within reason.
