I just moved from Fairfax, VA. to Germantown, MD. The OTA reception for DC is outstanding with a SS antenna on top of my DTC-100 (high 80's). What is the potential for Baltimore digtial reception in this area? I can't seem to get anything higher than 30's for channel 38 with my current indoor SS....would an outside UHF antenna/ preamp combo get any better results? I'm at I-270 & Middlebrook Rd.

TIA.....

Hi Wayne,

I think your Balt reception is mostly dependent on your height over terrain. I am in Kensington and can get 52, 59, 38 and one other sig from Baltimore.

You will have to rotate your antenna, though, as your direction is way off from DC. Check here:

for directions to Balt from your place.

Good luck,

We have to hook up someday. I live off of Father Hurley and 270. I would love to check out your set-up. Shoot me a PM when you get the chance.

Good luck,

Thanks, I was able to get DC stations with a Radio Shack double bowtie with no preamp on ANT A (80's) and, with careful experimentation, 38 & 52 in the 60's with the SS/ CM preamp combo inside on ANT B. 52 is the one I really wanted as WJLA in DC really sucks.
