I am considering of getting a progressive scan DVD player that works for both PAL and NTSC. Is pure cinema progressive better than DCDi ? Which model in your opinion would be better; Denon 1600(wight dcdi), denon 2800 (with silicon image chip) or philips Q50 (with dcdi)?

Thank you for your opinion.

I think at present only China made DVD player can output both progressive scan but you must be sure your TV cab accept progressive scan signal.

They are the Shinco (nDSP chipset) , Ninatus (DCDi chipset) , Skyworth (DCDi chipset) and Xindak (National Semiconductor chipset) etc.

Just a note to you that DCDi chipset player is having problem with Toshiba TV. Occasionally there is Blank Blue Screen and when you select Auto or PAL, the picture keep on jumping but select as NSTC ... no such thing happen.

Are there any known problems between the Xindak and Tosh tvs? Tosh are the only people making progressive scan inputs for the UK market at the moment! :(
