I find it hard to believe that there's no option to have the CC come on upon hitting the mute button. I've got Comcast with HDMI1 and a DCH3416. According to Comcast and Motorola, the only option is either have the CC on all the time or off all the time via the setbox menu. My old non-HD box allowed me to just have the CC come on when the tv was muted...

Any help would be appreciated.

The only way you can get cc on mute is if your tv has that capability and you use the RF or coaxial cable connection on the back of your tv. The HDMI and component connections do not offer the cc feature because there is not a tuner on those connections. Your cc works because the DCT/DVR/HD box is providing the cc. If you want cc on mute to work use the coaxial connection from your digital box to your tv, but then you loose true HD viewing.

Thanks for the response. I don't want to lose the HD but I miss the CC on mute. I used it a lot to catch "missed" dialogue on movies.

Thanks again,

Lorraine
