First, I apologize for asking since the DCT-5100 has been thoroughly discussed. But I can't make it through 1200+ posts on the Comcast upgrade thread. Furthermore, I do not have the DCT-5100 yet as a plan to upgrade when I get back from being deployed in the Middle East. Cableone, my cable company is just now rolling these out.
How does the 5100 handle video switching?
I want to:
output 480i via s-video > TIVO via S-video > HTPC (for de-interlacing/scaling) > Plasma via DVI at native rate
output 1080i via component > HTPC (for de-interlacing/scaling) > Plasma via DVI at NR
Does the 5100 switch to the proper output just by sensing the resolution as you switch channels?
Can I use both outputs simultaneously?
If I understand this correctly, the 480i override will force 480i out the component output regardless of its resolution setting. I dont want this to happen because I want all SD video to go thru the TIVO.
If someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Scott
