I just hooked up my Comcast Motorola DCT-6200 today. I've got the component going to my TV and the optical audio to the receiver. I've also ran an s-video cable to my TiVo Series 2 (Video input) I redid the guided setup on the TiVo as its no longer the cable tuner. However I cannot get any video from the cablebox to the tivo. I've got it tuned to a standard non-HD channel and everything shows on the TV fine.

I've got Comcast Digital Basic and the Tivo was working fine before I redid all the wiring. Any thoughts on why I'm not getting any signal going across?

The manual I got for the DCT 5100 shows a setup like this using a VCR. However the 6200 manual of the website doesn't. I wasn't sure if it was something the disabled or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It should output both S-Video & component video at the same time.

Thanks for the info. Now I just have to figure out where the problem lies.

I was able dto get it working. I ended skipping that part in the guided setup. Then I went back into the Messages & Settings and Video Settings and selected it there, it then showed the S-video feed properly. I think I may just split the cable signal and do it that way though, seems easier, and comes out cleaner.

almost two years late to the party - but here's my input. i'm surprised to hear you managed to get output from the component and s-video simultaneously, as i'm currently facing the same dilemma and have been unable to do so. in fact, a motorola tech rep has emailed me to say that the unit DCT6200 cannot do multiple video outputs because, "It is designed to only use one output at a time to prevent any copyright infringement."

I think people facing this problem (single output from STB) only have one option to get multiple output: using the composite/s-video out and a splitter, which will screw up the HD content. i don't think you could effectively use the component and a splitter, as the recording input device (DVDR, VCR, DVR, etc.) won't have a component input (not sure if you could use a component splitter and than some sort of converter (component to composite) into the recording device) -- well i guess you could, but i think these cost a helluva lot).
