The HD2 uses an LVDS interface. (near the bottom of this page) This is faster than the DDR DMDs. I doubt they changed to DDR as it would be a step backwards in interface speed and would be incompatible with the drive ASIC (DDP1010 on this page) used in the current HD2 designs.
