Dead Like Me... what did they mean? (potential spoiler warning)

5372 Views 14 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  HDTVChallenged
Watched last week's Dead Like Me finally (love that 6412 when it works!) and found it troubling. But even more troubling was the voice over after saying there were only three more episodes! It did not specify for this season (which is true, there are only three more) or if this was it for the series! In searching the internet, my fellow fans are equally confused and no one has a definitive answer. Common sense says they only meant for the season, but it was worrying. There aren't too many shows I really go out of my way for, but DLM and Lost really top my list right now.

I believe that it's three left for the season, as HUFF takes over that timeslot on 11/7. I think that it will be back next year; I know that MGM was talking about "new commitments" for the show earlier this summer.

Eric
Thanks, I hope so. And on the spoiler note, Mason better NOT be leaving!
This is the snippet from the guide on tomorrow's episode;

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) Spoiler
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) George regrets the things she did not accomplish in life; Mason prepares to move on.
I heard the same thing "Final 3 episodes" is what it said.. no 'of the season' or of the series just something like 'Catch the final 3 episodes of dead like me on showtime" or whatever...

plus all these storylines starting to get tied up in the last few episodes and coming episodes.. just doesn't seem good.
Now we know what a purple post-it means.
Yeah I almost laughed my head off! :D

Getting back to Daisy's friend Joe. I was hoping more would be revealed on this, so now I have a few questions.

How could the PTB not know he was going to die? They know the exact time and place of everyone who dies, even if they are murdered.

Why was there no reaper sent to take his soul?

I can only think that it happened the way it was supposed to and that his soul was destined to become a graveling. They do come from somewhere.

That was my daughter's take. She said she thought they didn't take the guy's soul because he was such a rat, "a nasty piece of work," as Mason might have put it. :)

I thought it was because, a Reaper killed him.

It was an "illegal" death

I found that to be lame as hell. All the build up and suspense... for nothing. Also lets not forget that when Mason lost his post-it and went to Rubes apartment to find it, he found an entire cabinet full of YELLOW POST-ITS. Millions of post-its, but he ran out and had to get purple ones at office max. Right....

Last nights episode was all over the map. Seemed like anything to do with Mason was really sweet, but there were alot of goofy parts in the episode as well. The whole slow motion chase scene in the office was very goofy.

Overall a good episode with a terribly lame ending. I think George Costanza said it best: "Its like masturbation without the pay off." :D

Hopefully you feel better now - the preview for next week's show clearly said "season finale."

Which doesn't necessarily mean there'll be another season ;)
