I thought PS3 could decode any DD/DTS 5.1/6.1 source int LPCM 5.1/6.1?

Noticed on many games this does not work but works for DVD movies.

some games have the option of what you can send the output as in their option menu. uncharted 2 springs to mind here. Others have default settings. I may be wrong, but i believe you can change the sound settings on the system itself to output whatever you want it too.

It doesn't seem to work though. If a game has Dolby Digital 5.1 and you set PS3's output settings to LPCM 2, 5.1, or 7.1, it will just output as 2 channels (stereo).

The 360 can't do multichannel PCM so they probably forget to enable it for the PS3 port.
