Are there any good DVD's or test out there to s how a particular hdtv deinterlaces 1080i to 1080p as I m interested in the Mitsubishi WD-73727. Any ideas or options on this set?

The HQV and Video Essentials HD-DVD and Blu-ray disks are both expected in the near future. Both will have such tests.

Hometheaterermag.com did a deinterlacing test on the smaller Mits and it did it properly, unlike last years models. The 73" doesn't use the same color wheel as the other models but still has a nice picture. The samsung and sony probably have a better picture but the Mits looks to be more reliable. Tough call. I still can't decide.

Besides the upcoming 1080 DVDs mentioned, with a computer and downloads from dr1394's site , deinterlacing and other 1080 tests are possible. -- John
