hi,

i am stuck. my htpc has started to have mobo problems, so i have put in a temp solution.

its a dell d600 running vanilla xp as i have most of my movies on a NAS. the dell d600 is in a pr01 port replicator. the dvi port works fine, but i cannot get the s/pdif port to output anything. i tried setting the sigma tel advanced options to use the s/pdif...but no cigar...it just keeps using the lappy speakers...

anyone using something similiar got any ideas...is it a bios setting i am missing?

any help greatfully received

you need to switch off the pc speakers in advanced settings when switching it to spdif. if u leave on the pc speakers..it wont work.
