Dell W3000 and Syntax Olevia 30" - Best Connection?

Dell has been kind enough to allow me to demo a W3000. I just hooked it up via DVI (ATI 9800Pro) and set the res to it's native 1280x768.


Everything seems to work fine but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.


I know the 1280x768 is the "Pixel Perfect" way to connect my HTPC to the monitor but is that it?


What about viewing 480p, 720p, 1080i source material?


I "think" that it is this simple and now that I have the monitor connected at it's Pixel Perfect setting the hard part is getting the software side of things worked out.


The reason I mention the Syntax Olevia 30" in the title is because I'm planning to purchase one of those as well and it, to my limited understanding, falls in the same boat where this issue is concerned.


If it is this easy with both of these sets, is it only difficult for the other people because their set doesn't have a "PC Digital Monitor" type connection?
