I'm planning to buy a projector in the $2000 to $3000 range. Soon :)

Distance from PJ to screen: 11 feet

Seating distance to screen: 13 feet

Input sources: DVD and a HD STB for DirecTV and OTA

Lighting: Basically sucks. The room has some large picture windows. That's sorta OK because it will almost always be night-time viewing.

So, I'm thinking of a NEC LT240K, or a Sony HS-10, or a Mits XD300 or maybe a Sharp M20X or...

Suggestions? Where can I see one near NY or CT or NJ?

Today I saw a Sony HS10 at the Sony Store at 56th and Madison in NYC. I was very impressed. I could be very happy with it :) Side Note: I asked about the HS20 and the SAT-HD 300 STB and they had no idea of release dates or pricing. I also saw an Infocus X1 at another NYC store and it was an incredible amount of bang for the buck. I see what all the buzz is about. I also saw a Panasonic L200 and a Sanyo Z1. Previously, at another store, I had seen the Toshiba TLP-MT7; a Sharp DT200 and a Canon LV52.

IM Inexperienced O, I'd rate the Sony at the top and the X1 a close second. Again, in my newbies opinion, none of the other projectors I've seen come close to those two.

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger. I want to see an NEC LT240K. Suggestions?
