I will start with some background on my system which should hopefully help with problem suggestions.

Speakers - Mains (Paradigm Studio 60s V4) and CC-590 V4 (Center)

Receiver - Denon 2808

I do not have a subwoofer or rear speakers.

Normal listening volume is generally -25 to as high as -20. Now when I am watching a movie or wanting to watch a music video this volume then can increase to as high as -10 or even louder. THE ISSUE is when I "crank" up the volume that during "lulls" in the sound you can hear what I would call static. Meaning that during a quiet scene or after the music video but before the commentator speaks you hear the speakers. In that they are not fully quiet as they should be given that there is no sound input.

Suggestions? Is this simply the fact that the Denon 2808 cannot power these speakers adequately?

Thanks in advance.

The 2808 is providing more than enough power for those speakers as they are fairly efficient at 92db. Has this issue always been the case or did it just start recently? Does this occur in all three speakers or just one? Recheck your speaker cable wiring to ensure it's all neat. Also try adjusting the speaker wire cables so as not to cross power cables if possible.

It has definitely occurred the whole time I have owned them and occurs in all three speakers. I believe it has gotten worse since I added the center speaker last month. Ex. now I believe it happens at a lower volume and as such my thoughts that it was the receiver struggling to power them.

Source is from the cable box and the DVD player. I source from a computer and it goes in via optical cable and that seems much better. Thus, the cable box and dvd player are connected by red and white RCA plugs into the turner. I would have to admit they are stock RCA wires and are nothing special. Maybe I should upgrade those?

I will try rearranging my wires as they honestly do criss cross quite a bit.
