Anybody have any direct experience with the audio playback of the Denon 2900 and Pi DV-59Avi players on CD and DVD-A or SACD?

I have a old sony 705D right now and was thinking about buying a new player with universal playability. Especially, I consider conventional CD audio quality. So, DV-59Avi¡¯s ¡°Legato Link Conversion Pro¡± and ¡°Hi-bit Conversion¡± is really advantage for 16-bit CD sound?

Another option would be to buy a 2200 and look for used CD player. Company said 2200 has 90% quality of 2900 and 70% low price. Is good decision for me?

Thanks.

I haven't compared the Denon 2900's DVD-A and SACD quality to its "little brother," the '2200, but I can tell you that the sonics on the 2900 in both formats are outstanding. It's also the best video quality I've seen in comparison to quite a few players. Back to the audio, though, I have compared it favorably to another similar player in the same price range -- the Yamaha 2300 -- and found it much better for both audio and video.
