Denon 2910 using 720p or 1080i on a Mits 52725?

If any other users here at AVS own the Denon 2910 and a Mits DLP, which setting on the DVD player are you using? 720p or 1080i.

I have heard people using both, but isn't the Mits XX725 720p native res?

Also, if one uses the 1080i choice, should the player also be set at interlaced instead of progressive or would that even matter? The input states 1080i on the screen, even in progressive mode.

What to do.........

I have a Pioneer 59avi with my Mits. 52725 ... I feed the TV 720p over HDMI and I think it looks great. I tried to compare between sending in 480p over component versus the 720p over HDMI, and to me it seems that the HDMI feed is a bit more detailed. Component looks very good as well which seems to indicate that the TVs scalers are very good. I have not tried sending it 1080i to compare how that looks, but may try that out as well. The TV will convert all input resolutions to progressive 720 so even though it the display shows 1080i, it is being deinterlaced and converted to 720p for display.
thanks UMD. as always, your posts are on the top of the bunch!
