trying to determine the best Denon AVR

the 2807 and 987 look identical from Denon website (other than RC); can anyone confirm

what are the known complaints/experiences with the 3608 and the 2807

seems HDMI switching is better with the 2807 and the 3608 has 10w/ch more.

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

im deciding b/t the 3806 and 2807 as well.

it seems the 2807 has the ipod dock and better hdmi upconversion whereas the 3806 has more power.

i dunno...
The 2807 and the 987 are the same.

You'd never be able to notice 10watts/channel power difference.

The 2807 does do HDMI better but the 3806 has Denon-link which is awesome if you have more Denon components.
If you are going to be using the reciever for audio I would choose the 3806. If you need the video part of the reciever I would choose the 2807. Do a side by side comparison on Denons website to see whats important to you. Everyone is different.
The 2807 and the 3806 will sound the same and the differance in power between them is inaudible. I would suggest deciding between the two on price and features.

I've heard them side by side at a speacialty audio store. The 3806 is clearly better sounding.

If you replace the 3806 with the 3805, here is a review from a site you can trust:

"The AVR-2807 is such a receiver, and if I'm taking wild guesses there is no reason

why it couldn't supplant the AVR-3805 as Denon's all-time most popular A/V receiver."
