I consider myself an "advanced home user" and not a specialist or technical guru. From that perspective the Denon 3802 has worked fine.


A major consideration for this model was it's multi-room capability. As far as "weakness", well, I SIMULTANEOUSLY drive a Bose Acoustimass 15 system in my living room and a set of Bose 301’s in another part of the house. While I am sure there are more advanced or “power draining†scenarios out there…the Denon fits my needs well.

IMO, the 3802's tuner is average. Not bad but definitely average. Probably typical for most receivers.


I was running a separate Yamaha TX series before and it was clearly better. Quieter and did a better job on weaker signals. But I've been happywith the Denon...
