I just got my Denon 3803 and I'm generally very happy with it. However, I've got it configured for two zones and I cannot figure out how to get the digital input (assigned to DVD) to go to zone 2. I can get zone 2 to work with analog sources such as the tuner and I can get it to switch to the DVD input but no sound upstairs in zone 2.

The DVD audio works fine when in the main zone.

Any suggestions? Is zone 2 able to output(play) digital audio sources?

I don't have much experience with the Denon, but it's common for multi-zone units to only work as analog preamps for the alternate zones. This is because the unit would have to include additional DACs and DSP power to support the additional digital signal paths. However, there may be a "Copy Main" option, where the alternate zone can duplicate the routing of the main path settings (analog or digital), but of course they wouldn't be independent.

What about having the same audio come out of both zones when it is a digital input? Is this possible? Will a short cable from zone 1 preamp out to zone 2 line in work?
