I scanned over the various 3805 threads, but haven't seen anything that describes the EQ function/process in detail. The auto-calibrate which sets distance/delay, output etc is separate from the EQ, right? Or does the auto-calibrate automatically set the room EQ? If not, how do you know how to properly set EQ? I have an essentially square room, 15x14 give or take, but it's a dedicated room with strategically placed sonex & corner tunes.

Thanks in advance!

The auto EQ sets the distance/delay of the speakers as well as the EQ. You can then manually adjust the distance/delay if needed. In my case, the distances were exactly correct.

The 3805 auto-calibrate functions include very comprehensive fully parametric EQ for all driven channels, each independant of one another. The EQ uses up to 8 available bands for each speaker. Once the auto calibrate session is complete (takes about 90 seconds for 7.1) the receiver gives you access to three separate EQ curves for your particular setup which can be selected at will. In addition to the fully parametric EQ in auto-cal, you also have 8 band octave EQ for each channel that can be manually adjusted as you desire.

Happy listening!
