Denon 3805 Keeps Turning Off

I've got a 5.1 set up with a Denon 3805. I have a combination VCR/DVD player connected to the Denon. Everytime I try to play the VCR or DVD, the Denon automatically shuts off. This only happens with the VCR/DVD connection. I've also got DirecTv connected to the receiver and it works fine. I think I may have tripped a circuit protector or something because i was having problems with my outdoor speakers, which were not properly phased (negative and positive wires got switched)? Does anyone know how I can stop my receiver from turning off when I try to play the VCR/DVD?

Did you try to connect the Sat receiver to the inputs that trip from the DVD or VCR player?

If it still trips than you could have damaged cables. Try swapping cables.


If that doesn't work than you probably damaged your 3805 receiver

Also, is the VCR/DVD getting power through the Denon? I know the draw is minimal, but that could be a problem area too.
